Tuned for victory!

The Chisel Comp is a light and very fast cross country bike with full suspension. It is 18.4% lighter than the nearest competitor and delivers noticeably fierce performance. Thanks to the advanced kinematics and geometry of the Epic 8 combined with the innovative D’Aluisio Smartweld technology, riders can get the best out of themselves or simply have an incredibly good time on their home trails.

Features of the Specialized CHISEL COMP - 29" Mountain Bike - 2024

  • D'Aluisio Smartweld frame with FlipChip to adjust the geometry.
  • RockShox SID Suspension fork with 120 mm travel and Rush damper cartridge.
  • RockShox Deluxe Select+ Shock with Ride Dynamics Tune.
  • When things get dicey, the stroke of the lowerable TranzX seatpost can be infinitely adjusted without any problems thanks to the clever lever.
  • Shimano SLX drivetrain with 1 × 12 gears.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes with high braking power.

Details of the Specialized CHISEL COMP

"Speed Metal": D’Aluisio Smartweld not only gives the Chisel its low weight, but also its unrivaled handling and riding characteristics. Each aluminum tube has been specially shaped for its position in the frame and has different wall thicknesses. In this way, stiffness and flexibility are used specifically for efficiency, comfort and control.

"Progressive Metalcore": The Chisel with 110 mm rear wheel travel in the Ride Dynamics Tune is related to the Epic 8, the Specialized racing machine for the World Cup. It shares performance features such as the advanced kinematics, the suspension with Ride Dynamics Tune and the progressive geometry honed in the World Cup. The Chisel handles varied terrain as light as a feather and inspires confidence so that riders can rock.

"Power Metal": Thanks to the geometry and kinematics of the World Cup-winning Epic 8, the Chisel surprises with incredible pedaling efficiency. This makes it the most efficient full-suspension XC bike made of aluminum. The steep seat angle positions the rider centrally in the bike for optimum power transfer and the perfected Anti-Squat reduces pedal kickback. The Chisel converts every watt at the pedals into maximum acceleration.

"Groove Metal": Flexible struts have been added to the Chisel for maximum suspension performance. This and the D’Aluisio Smartweld design with its weight savings reduce the maintenance effort of the rear triangle enormously. Extensive field and laboratory tests have shown that the Chisel has achieved the impossible. Until now, Flex Stays was mainly reserved for bikes made of carbon, but with its specially shaped aluminum, the Chisel can easily keep up in terms of efficiency, control and low weight.

No "heavy metal": The Chisel shines with a hydroformed seat tube that integrates the pivot point of the rocker, the main pivot and, absolutely innovative, the bottom bracket shell. In this way, Specialized saves additional material and weight compared to a traditional bike, where the pivot points and bottom bracket shell are welded onto the seat tube.
