Usage
Gels are often used when eating a bar is not possible (due to, for example, a high heart rate), such as during activities like running. They can also be applied during hockey, for instance, during breaks or substitution periods. While cycling, gels are frequently used at the end of a tough training session or during periods when the heart rate is elevated, such as when climbing a mountain.
Recommended usage: Take 1-3 gels per hour of effort. Usage depends on the individual's carbohydrate needs.
